The card game you grew up playing during family reunions and barrio fiestas — now online with real money prizes. PHLVIP brings you the most authentic Tongits experience in the Philippines, with cash tables, weekly tournaments, and a community of players from Manila to Mindanao. Tara na, laro tayo!
If you grew up in the Philippines, chances are you played Tongits at least once — during a long holiday weekend, after a family lunch, or just hanging out with friends in the afternoon. It's one of those games that feels uniquely Filipino. The fast pacing, the mixed strategy of memory and risk, and the pure drama of laying down your final meld to call "Tongits!" — there's nothing quite like it.
Tongits is a three-player card game played with a standard 52-card deck. The goal is simple: get rid of all your cards before your opponents do, or have the lowest total point value when the draw pile runs out. Players take turns drawing and discarding, while trying to form sets and sequences (called melds) to eliminate cards from their hand. It sounds easy, but the strategic depth — especially when it comes to reading opponents and timing your calls — is what keeps experienced players coming back for more.
At PHLVIP, we've taken that same beloved game and brought it online with the quality it deserves. Smooth animations, fair shuffling powered by a certified random number generator, and real-money tables with buy-ins to suit every kind of player — from casual bettors to serious card sharks.
Every Tongits session at PHLVIP follows the traditional Filipino rules, with a few quality-of-life improvements for the online format. Here's the basic flow of a hand:
The dealer receives 13 cards; each of the other two players gets 12. The remaining cards form the draw pile in the center. The dealer goes first.
On your turn, draw one card from the pile and discard one from your hand. You can also take the top discard if it helps complete a meld. Keep cycling until someone wins or the pile runs out.
You can lay down complete sets (three or four cards of the same rank) or sequences (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit) face-up on the table at any point during your turn. Laid-down cards no longer count against your point total.
If you empty your hand completely, you call "Tongits!" and win outright. Alternatively, any player with zero unreleased cards can "call a fight" — all players reveal their remaining cards and the lowest point total wins. Timing your call is everything.
In PHLVIP cash games, the winner collects the pot minus the platform fee. In tournaments, prize money is distributed according to the final standings. All payouts are credited instantly to your PHLVIP balance in Philippine Peso.
Understanding card values is the first step to becoming a stronger Tongits player. Face cards and high-value cards can hurt you badly if you're still holding them when a fight is called. Here's the standard point system used in all PHLVIP Tongits tables:
| Card | Point Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ace (A) | 1 pt | Lowest value card — great to hold as filler |
| 2 through 9 | Face value | 2 = 2 pts, 3 = 3 pts, up to 9 = 9 pts |
| 10, Jack (J), Queen (Q), King (K) | 10 pts | High-risk cards — discard early if you can't meld them |
The golden rule of Tongits hand management: get rid of face cards and 10s as fast as possible if you can't pair them into a meld. A single King in your hand when the pile runs out could be the difference between winning ₱5,000 or losing it.
Whether you're a weekend casual or a seasoned Tongits veteran, PHLVIP has a table that fits. We offer several stake levels across different room types so you never feel out of your depth — or underchallenged.
The Libre Room is free to play — perfect for newcomers who want to practice the PHLVIP interface before putting real pesos on the line. The Masa Room runs buy-ins from ₱50 to ₱500 per game and is where most casual players hang out. The Mahirap Room (medium stakes) runs ₱500 to ₱2,000 buy-ins, while the Laban Room (high stakes) is for experienced players comfortable with ₱2,000 to ₱10,000 games. Tournament entry fees are separate and vary by event.
All rooms are available around the clock. During peak hours — typically evenings from 7PM to midnight PHT — you'll find dozens of active tables at every stake level, so wait times are minimal. The average game lasts around 8 to 12 minutes, which means even a 30-minute session can get you several full hands.
The real excitement at PHLVIP Tongits comes from our tournament schedule. We run tournaments daily, weekly, and monthly, with prize pools that scale from a few thousand pesos all the way up to ₱1,000,000 for the monthly Grand Finals. Entry fees are kept low relative to the prize pool, giving every registered player a genuine shot at a big payday.
Tournaments follow a knockout bracket format. You start at the group stage and advance based on cumulative wins. The top finishers from each group move into elimination rounds, and the final table plays for the headline prize. Results are posted live in the tournament lobby so you always know where you stand. PHLVIP also awards satellite tickets to our biggest events as promotional prizes — so even a ₱50 cash game win can end up earning you a seat at a ₱500,000 tournament. Not a bad deal, 'di ba?
There are a few Tongits platforms around, but PHLVIP stands out for a few specific reasons that our players consistently mention. First, our shuffling and dealing engine is certified by a third-party RNG auditor, so every hand is truly random. No patterns, no manipulation — just pure cards.
Second, our mobile interface is genuinely smooth — even on lower-end Android phones with standard LTE. We've tested it extensively on the kinds of devices most Filipino players actually use, not just flagship smartphones. The card animations are snappy, the meld detection is automatic, and the discard pile is always clearly visible without needing to scroll.
Third, payouts at PHLVIP are real and instant. When you win a cash game, your balance updates immediately. Withdrawals to GCash or Maya typically complete within 3 minutes. We've heard too many stories of players on other sites waiting days for withdrawals that never arrive — that's not the PHLVIP way.
Practice mode — no real money, perfect for beginners.

These aren't guaranteed tricks — Tongits always has a luck element. But players who consistently do well at PHLVIP tend to follow these habits.
The discard pile is information. If you see two 7s already discarded, there's no point holding the other two waiting for a set. Adjust your hand plan constantly based on what you see going out.
Kings, Queens, Jacks, and 10s are worth 10 points each. If you can't immediately see a meld forming around them, get rid of them early. Being caught holding three face cards in a fight is painful.
Don't call a fight just because you can. If you think an opponent has melded heavily and holds almost nothing, your 10-point total might still lose. Call when your hand is clearly the lightest at the table.
Experienced opponents will notice if you consistently pick up from the discard pile. Mixing in draws from the pile — even when the discard looks useful — keeps them guessing about your hand.
PHLVIP shows your current hand point value in real time. Use it. If a fight is called unexpectedly, players who have been tracking their totals are never surprised by the outcome.
Even the best Tongits players lose sessions. Keep your session buy-in to no more than 5–10% of your total gaming budget. That way, one bad run doesn't wipe out everything you've built up.
Register at PHLVIP, make your first deposit of at least ₱100, and receive a ₱100 free Tongits chip automatically credited to your card game wallet. No code needed.
"Finally isang platform na parang tunay na Tongits. Yung card shuffling pala, super fair — walang pattern na mapapansin kahit ilang laro na. Nanalo na ako ng ₱12,000 sa isang Saturday tournament, inilabas ko agad sa GCash within minutes. Solid talaga."
"I play Tongits during my breaks at work — usually the Masa Room, about ₱100–₱200 per game. The mobile interface is really clean and it doesn't eat my data. I've cashed out three times already and everything went through without any problems. Thumbs up sa PHLVIP!"
"Laban Room player here. I've been playing Tongits competitively for years and PHLVIP is the most trustworthy platform I've found. The high-stakes tables actually have real opponents — hindi bots. Yung monthly Grand Finals, grabe yung experience. Worth the ₱2,000 entry pag nananalo ka ng malaki."
